Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 16, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how invitefor.you (“we,” “us,” or “the Service”) handles information when you create, share, or open an invitation. The Service is designed to work without accounts and without ads on your guests’ invites.
1. Summary
- No account or sign-up is required.
- Invite details you enter are encoded into the shareable link you create.
- “My Invites” is stored only in your browser on this device (local storage).
- We do not sell personal information.
- We do not run third-party advertising trackers on the Service.
2. Information in invite links
When you create an invite, details such as host name, event name, date, time, location, notes, color theme, and RSVP contact (phone or email) may be included in the URL path or query string. Anyone with the link can view those details. You control who receives the link.
Do not put sensitive information in an invite that you would not want a recipient (or someone who later receives the link) to see.
3. Information stored on your device
The create page may save a list of invites you made on this browser (“My Invites”) using local storage. That data stays on your device until you clear site data or remove entries. We do not receive a copy of that list as a centralized user account.
4. Location checks
If you enter an optional location while creating an invite, the Service may send that text to
a geocoding helper (geo.php) that queries
OpenStreetMap Nominatim
to sanity-check the place name. Only the location string you typed is sent for that lookup.
5. Share / preview images
Open Graph preview images for invite links are generated from invite parameters (such as host name and theme). RSVP contact details are not intended to appear in those images.
6. Server logs and technical data
Like most websites, our host may automatically collect standard request logs (for example IP address, user agent, requested URL, and time) for security, reliability, and abuse prevention. We do not use those logs to build advertising profiles.
7. Cookies and similar technologies
The Service does not rely on advertising cookies. Your browser may store local data for “My Invites” as described above. Third-party CDNs used for fonts, icons, or libraries may set their own technical cookies according to their policies.
8. Third-party services
Depending on features you use, third parties may process limited data:
- Font and asset CDNs (for example Google Fonts, jsDelivr, Cloudflare CDN for Font Awesome)
- OpenStreetMap Nominatim for optional location checks
- Map providers when a guest opens directions from an invite
- Calendar providers when a guest adds an event to their calendar
- Phone or email apps when a guest taps RSVP
Those services are governed by their own privacy policies.
9. Children
The Service is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your region). Do not knowingly submit a child’s personal information in an invite link.
10. Your choices
- Clear browser site data to remove “My Invites” from this device.
- Stop sharing or rotate an invite by creating a new link with updated details.
- Avoid including phone numbers or emails in links you do not intend to circulate.
11. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised policy.
12. Contact
Questions about this Privacy Policy can be sent to the operator of invitefor.you via the contact method published on the site (if provided) or through your usual channel to the site owner.
